Adopt a duck for yourself, a loved one or even a whole flock and help support those affected by breast cancer.  Watch the race unfold on Sunday 11th April 2027 and keep everything crossed that your duck is first to cross the finishing line! You can join us in person in Cambridge or watch live from the comfort of your own home via our live stream.


Full Terms & Conditions

1. Promoter

The Pink Ribbon Duck Race ("the Event") is promoted by the Pink Ribbon Foundation ("the Promoter").

These Terms and Conditions govern participation in the Event and all entrants agree to be bound by them.

2. Eligibility

2.1 The Event is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 16 years or over at the time of entry.

2.2 Participants must be aged 16 years or over to purchase a duck adoption or submit a free entry.

2.3 Parents, guardians or other responsible adults may purchase duck adoptions on behalf of a person under the age of 16. In such cases, the entry shall be recorded in the name of the adult purchaser, who shall be deemed the participant for the purposes of these Terms and Conditions and any prize award.

2.4 Any prize won through an entry purchased on behalf of a person under the age of 16 shall be awarded to the adult named on the entry, who may choose how the prize is used or gifted.

2.5 The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of age and identity.

2.6 Employees, volunteers, trustees, contractors and individuals involved in the organisation or administration of the Event may participate and purchase duck adoptions in support of the Pink Ribbon Foundation. However, all entries will be treated equally and no participant shall receive any advantage or preferential treatment in relation to the allocation of ducks, prize draws or winner selection.

2.7 By entering the Event, participants confirm that they meet the eligibility requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions.

3. How to Enter

3.1 Participants may adopt one or more ducks through the official Event website or other authorised sales channels.

3.2 Each duck adoption will be allocated a unique duck number for the Event.

3.3 Entry fees and adoption prices will be published on the official Event website.

3.4 All proceeds from duck adoptions, after the deduction of legitimate Event costs, support the charitable activities of the Pink Ribbon Foundation.

3.5 The Promoter reserves the right to refuse, cancel or void any entry where fraud, abuse, technical error or breach of these Terms and Conditions is suspected.

4. Free Entry Route

4.1 A free entry route is available.

4.2 Full details of the free entry process, including any submission requirements and deadlines, will be published on the official Event website.

4.3 No purchase is necessary to participate using the free entry route.

4.4 Free entries and paid duck adoptions shall have an equal chance of winning.

4.5 Free entries received after any published deadline may not be accepted.

5. Event Format

5.1 The Event involves the release of numbered ducks into the designated race course.

5.2 Ducks will be allocated numbers corresponding to valid entries received before the published closing date.

5.3 The winning duck(s) shall be determined by the order in which they cross the designated finish line or by such other method as may be announced by the Promoter before the start of the race.

5.4 The Promoter reserves the right to amend the race format where reasonably necessary for safety, environmental, weather or operational reasons.

6. Prizes

6.1 The main prize has a value of up to £3,000.

6.2 Full details of the prize package, including any restrictions, exclusions or conditions, will be published on the official Event website.

6.3 Additional prizes may be offered and will be detailed on the official Event website.

6.4 Prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered unless expressly stated by the Promoter.

6.5 The Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value should circumstances beyond its control make this necessary.

7. Winner Selection and Notification

7.1 Winners will be determined by the official race results.

7.2 Winners will be contacted using the details provided during entry.

7.3 Reasonable efforts will be made to contact winners.

7.4 If a winner cannot be contacted or fails to claim their prize within 28 days, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize and select an alternative winner where appropriate.

7.5 The Promoter's decision regarding all race results and prize awards shall be final.

8. Publicity

8.1 By entering the Event, participants agree that, should they win a prize, the Promoter may publish their first name, surname initial and general location for the purpose of announcing winners.

8.2 Winners may be invited to participate in reasonable publicity, photography or media activity relating to the Event.

8.3 Any participant wishing to object to publication of winner information should contact the Promoter. The Promoter will consider such requests in accordance with applicable law.

9. Data Protection

9.1 Personal information supplied during entry will be processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and other applicable legislation.

9.2 Personal data will be used solely for the administration of the Event, prize fulfilment, legal compliance and related communications.

9.3 Personal information will not be sold to third parties.

9.4 Data may be shared with carefully selected service providers where necessary for the administration of the Event.

10. Environmental Commitment

10.1 The Promoter and its Event partners are committed to minimising the environmental impact of the Event.

10.2 All ducks used in the Event will be recovered following the race wherever reasonably practicable.

10.3 The Event will be delivered in accordance with the environmental controls and procedures established for the Event.

11. Limitation of Liability

11.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11.2 Subject to clause 11.1, the Promoter shall not be liable for:

a) Any loss, damage or disappointment arising from participation in the Event;

b) Any interruption, postponement or cancellation of the Event caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control;

c) Technical failures, communication failures or website interruptions.

12. Event Changes and Cancellation

12.1 The Promoter reserves the right to postpone, modify, suspend or cancel the Event where necessary due to weather conditions, safety concerns, environmental issues, legal requirements or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

12.2 Where possible, participants will be notified of any significant changes via the official Event website and associated communication channels.

13. General

13.1 The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions where reasonably necessary.

13.2 Any amendments will be published on the official Event website.

13.3 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

13.4 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

13.5 Any disputes arising in connection with the Event shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Postal Entry Route

A free postal entry route is available for the Pink Ribbon Duck Race.

To enter without making a donation to the Pink Ribbon Foundation, please clearly provide your full name, postal address, email address and contact telephone number on a blank postcard, on the reverse of an envelope, or on a separate sheet of paper enclosed within an envelope, and send it to:

Postal Entry Rules

  • Entries must be clearly legible and contain all required information. Incomplete or illegible entries may be deemed invalid.
  • A maximum of one free postal entry per household is permitted.
  • Each valid postal entry will be allocated one duck in the race.
  • Postal entries have exactly the same chance of winning as any paid duck adoption.
  • Postal entries must be received by 5pm, five working days before the event (05.04.27).
  • The Pink Ribbon Foundation accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed or not received.
  • Due to the volume of entries received, confirmation of receipt will not be provided.
  • Please allow up to 10 working days for postal entries to be processed and allocated a duck number.
  • No purchase or donation is required to enter via this route or to claim a prize.
